Dr. Bethany Goddiess completed her undergraduate education at University of Massachusetts-Amherst and her doctorate degree in Audiology from University of Connecticut.
Having completed numerous internships at various hospitals and ENT practices throughout Rhode Island and Connecticut, Dr. Goddiess has over 5 years of experience helping people with better hearing.
Dr. Goddiess grew up with a background in hearing health from Grandfather who dispensed eye-glass hearing aids. When Bethany is not in the office, you can find her sailing somewhere off the Connecticut or Rhode Island coast.

Kimballi Startz joined our practice in 2020 as our Hearing Care Practitioner who is a qualified member of the International Hearing Society and has a National Board Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences. She has been a hearing aid dispenser for 43 years holding multiple positions as trainer, dispenser and business owner. She brings years of experience and dedication to her patients.
Sophie Candelaria
Patient Services Coordinator
Sophie Candelaria is a Patient Services Coordinator. Sophie is originally from Rhode Island and has lived in Providence since her childhood. Sophie started working at Ascent Audiology & Hearing in 2020, which was also her entrance into the hearing industry. Sophie was drawn to the profession because of her interest in medicine and making a change in her patient’s lives.
What Sophie loves most about saving hearing lives is the opportunity to make like more enjoyable for people with hearing loss. Sophie strives to make sure that every patient walks out the door with more confidence than when they came in.
Outside of saving hearing lives, Sophie loves hobbies such as hiking, cooking and exploring with her dog, Tony.
